I knew I wanted to be a DUI defense attorney
and criminal defense attorney when I was 14 years old. It was at that time that
a close family friend, someone I knew, liked, and trusted, was arrested for DUI
in my hometown. This friend was an upstanding citizen. He lived right, acted right,
and took care of his friends and family. And after being charged with this DUI his
life was thrown into upheaval. But after hiring a good DUI defense attorney his
life soon returned to normal. He was able to put the embarrassment of the arrest
behind him and move on. It was then that I decided I wanted to help people in the
same way. I wanted to help people get second chances. And I've been working toward
accomplishing that goal ever since.
Don't let the young looks fool you. I've been a practicing criminal defense attorney
for five years and I'm very good at what I do. In that time I've served on the public
defense felony panel, helping people accused of charges such as felony DUI, felony
theft, drug possession, and similar crimes resolve their cases successfully, I've
successfully defended many people on misdemeanor DUI charges and other misdemeanor
charges, and I've helped many people get the second chance and clean slate they
deserve.
I earned my undergraduate and law degree from the University of Kansas, and though
over time I’m slowly converting myself into a Washington Huskies fan, I’ll always
be a Jayhawk at heart. To keep my mind fresh and my legal toolbox full, I regularly
attend seminars and classes focused on Seattle criminal defense and Seattle DUI defense,
am a member of the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and am a
member of the King County and Washington State Bar Associations. I spend a large
amount of my time in court defending my clients, and I spend the rest on the golf
course with my wife, Alison.
